Argumentation Theory & Systems: towards a roadmap

We’re drawing to the close of an intensive ‘Argumentation Perspectives‘ workshop here at Schloss Dagstuhl, 2.5 hours out of Frankfurt. We’ve got some of the best people working on delivering argumentation-support technology on the web and intelligent systems

We’re working in thematic groups around:

  • Argumentation and the Semantic Web
  • Argumentation and Multi-agent Systems
  • Argumentation and Decision Support in Application Areas
  • Argumentation and Social Networks

I introduced the social networks theme [slides], and both Compendium and Cohere have been in action as a medium to demonstrate and capture real time/asynchronous mapping of discussions. A publication will be out soon summarising the event, with more fully developed articles later this year.
