Dispositional Learning Analytics @LASI-Stanford
The week-long LASI13, Stanford University has just ended, where Ruth Deakin Crick (Univ Bristol), Chris Goldspink (Incept Labs), Rebecca Ferguson (OU), Nelson Gonzalez (Declara), Dave Paunesku (Stanford PERTS Lab) and I ran a Dispositional Learning Analytics workshop.
We’ve had very positive feedback on this, and awareness should grow of Learner Dispositions (or Mindset as Carol Dweck calls it), Teacher Dispositions, the potential of a multi-level Complex Systems approach to educational system design, and from Nelson’s work at Declara, the emerging potential of applying combined social and machine learning techniques to such datasets.
